ComicScreenlet lets you view online comics on your desktop. Currently it features Dilbert, Pearls before Swine, Non Sequitur and Wulff Morgenthaler, but it can easily be extended.

[edit] Installation

Change the file extension to tar.gz (Kaju's site refuses to accept other that text file uploads, and then mangles the file name), and the install as usual by extracting the contents of the screenlet's archive to the directory "$HOME/.screenlets" or using the Screenlet Manager.

Requires no additional libraries. Runs with the default installation.
